Rosecrans Military Cemetery Memorial Day 2009 Photography

It's become a tradition. Every year on the Tuesday after Memorial Day, I get up before sunrise and drive down to Rosecrans Military Cemetery here in San Diego. Rosecrans is the home to over 96,000 members of our military. It's one of those very unique places that truly commands your attention and tugs at your very soul.

Normally a great place for photography, it's even better over Memorial Day weekend. That's because every year the Boy Scouts come out and place a US flag on each and every grave site. With the flags added the cemetery is simply breathtaking. I never get tired of photographing it.

This was the fourth year in a row that I've done this, so it gets increasingly difficult to find new angles and perspectives. But I think I did a pretty good job this year.
